About Balcony Plants
Balcony Plants turns public weather forecasts into plant-care advice for your specific balcony. The free checker shows a sample verdict; the season pass unlocks daily verdicts for all your plants, plus danger alerts by email for the current growing season.
Watering more, on its own, rarely saves potted plants in a heatwave. A pot in the sun overheats from the outside in, wet soil or not.
What actually decides the outcome: orientation, floor height, and pot color. A south-west balcony can run 8–12°C (14–22°F) hotter than the forecast, and none of it shows up on a weather app.
Three fixes, no tools: shade before the sun hits (not after), group pots and swap out the darkest ones, and water at dawn and dusk instead of midday.
Skip the drip irrigation and misting rigs. A bedsheet and moving a pot do most of the work.
