About MoneyHackWise

MoneyHackWise is a set of free US personal-finance calculators with no account, no paywall and no email capture.

What it covers: credit-card payoff and the minimum-payment trap, debt snowball vs avalanche, mortgage payment and home affordability, salary and take-home pay, hourly-to-yearly conversion, inflation (official BLS CPI data), compound interest and savings goals, job-offer comparison, plus small-business tools such as profit margin, break-even, burn rate and runway.

What makes it different: every result has an "Explain this result" button. A built-in AI puts the number into plain English and answers follow-up questions, so you understand the answer instead of just reading it. There is also an AI money glossary and a lottery after-tax calculator.

Structured reference data: average gross, operating and net profit margins for 94 US industries, compiled from Aswath Damodaran's NYU Stern dataset and refreshed annually, with a downloadable CSV and a suggested citation. Inflation figures run on official BLS CPI data.

Free, no sign-up, works in any browser.

✦ Good to know

  • Calculators are free to use with no sign-up or account required.
  • AI explains any calculator result and defines money terms like APR or escrow on demand.
  • A debt payoff comparator contrasts snowball and avalanche strategies with payoff time and total interest.
  • A loan comparison tool compares total cost including interest and fees across loan offers.
  • Benchmark rates shown include the 30-year fixed mortgage at 6.76% and credit card interest at 20.94%.
