About HourToBill
HourToBill is time tracking for one person who bills by the hour, built around the moment tracking usually fails: the end of the month, when hours have to become an invoice.
Start a timer against a client. Stop it. Fix an entry if you got it wrong. At month end the hours become a PDF invoice with every entry dated, described and priced, with your own logo and payment link on it.
What makes it different:
- You can use the entire product without an account. Track an hour against a sample client and download a real PDF invoice at hourtobill.com/demo. No email address, nothing saved. No other tool in this category does this.
- The rounding is honest. Set six-minute increments and it rounds the merged daily total for a task, not each entry. Four two-minute calls about one matter on one day bill as 0.2 hours, not 0.4. Most tools quietly do the second.
- Invoices are snapshotted when issued. Raise your rate in April and the March invoice a client already has still says what it said in March.
- It deliberately has no projects, no team seats, no proposals, no expenses and no client portal. Those are real needs and other products serve them well. Leaving them out is what keeps this one small enough to actually use.
Who it is for: solo consultants, freelancers, bookkeepers, independent lawyers and anyone billing hourly to clients who pay a normal invoice.
Who it is not for: teams, agencies with staff, anyone needing trust accounting, project management or fixed-fee package billing.
Free 14-day trial, no card. Then $12 a month or $120 a year. One plan, unlimited clients, unlimited invoices.
