About JSK Shield
JSK Shield is an open-source (GPL-3.0) ad and tracker blocker for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Every other blocker shows you a count. Shield shows the request it blocked, the exact filter rule that matched, and the list that rule came from - then lets you allow just that one request on that one site.
Under Manifest V3 the static rulesets are compiled into the package and cannot change until a store release clears review, so when a rule over-blocks and breaks a checkout page you are normally stuck. Shield adds a guided recovery flow that tries the least destructive fix first: allow one request, then disable element hiding while keeping network blocking, and only then pause the site.
Blocking works with no account and no host permissions at all. No telemetry, no analytics, and no paid allowlist - ever. Blocking is free and identical on every plan; the paid Family tier adds parental controls (content categories, per-child profiles, scheduled blocking) and is the only thing behind a payment.
