Yaps is the private AI toolkit that runs on your device. Dictation is the fastest way in: press a shortcut or tap the keyboard microphone, speak naturally, and clean text lands wherever you are typing.

Beyond dictation, Yaps can transcribe audio and video, read text aloud, translate content, work with media, and manage Markdown-backed notes. Saved notes remain searchable, editable, and readable as ordinary files outside the app. Optional end-to-end encrypted sync keeps notes available across supported devices.

Yaps also lets you chat with your notes using local AI. Ask follow-up questions, compare information across files, reconnect related ideas, and receive answers grounded in your own material with references to the relevant notes.

Yaps is built around on-device AI processing for greater privacy, fast responses, and offline use after the required models are downloaded. Connected services support accounts, subscriptions, downloads, privacy-filtered diagnostics, optional encrypted sync, and features users explicitly connect.
