About RotorCrypt X-Files
RotorCrypt X-Files is a powerful encryption software for securely protecting your files.
Using drag and drop, move files or entire folders into the vault. By default, three encryption layers are applied (including AES-256-GCM and ChaCha20). An optional fourth layer can be added – a mechanical rotor-based encryption system.
A major advantage over other encryption programs: no additional password is ever required. The only exception is when creating a self-extracting EXE file. Here you can set your own password and, optionally, an expiry date. If it expires or too many incorrect passwords are entered, the file automatically deletes itself.
Encrypted files can be sent directly to verified contacts, who can be assigned individual avatars. The only requirement is that the contact also uses RotorCrypt X-Files.
For exchanging encrypted text messages only, the program is also 100% compatible with RotorCrypt X and RotorCrypt X-Mobile (Android). Encrypting files and folders, however, is only possible with RotorCrypt X-Files.
Also included are a standalone password generator and a password vault for securely managing your credentials.
Access protection at program startup is based on Argon2id, a modern, memory-intensive key derivation function that effectively and specifically hardens the password against brute-force attacks.
The program works completely offline. An internet connection is only required for the first start and for license activation. No user data is collected or transmitted.
RotorCrypt X-Files can be tested for 30 days completely free of charge and without any restrictions.
